I've spent most of my life performing, in one way or another, beginning with theater in both high school and college. After college I immediately began a three-decade career in radio, first as a DJ but after a few years jumping to Talk Radio where I hosted interview and call-in talk shows in several markets. At the same time I entered broadcasting, I started filling up my off-air hours doing regional and local theater, sometimes acting in as many as five plays a year. (I met my wife while performing in "The Madwoman of Chaillot" -- we were married on that theater's stage a year later.) I somehow kept that pace up until switching to a publishing career in 1997, when long hours and a lengthy commute forced me to cut back a bit. I remained on the air part-time just for fun and continued to do freelance voice-over work, but traded acting in plays for the short-form performance satisfaction of improvisational theater in Hartford, where I was a founding member of "Off The Cuff Improv," Connecticut's longest-running improv troupe. As a Living History reenactor, I'm often called upon to do first-person role-playing, something that allows me to combine my love of improvisational theater with my fascination for American history. I particularly enjoyed doing 19th-century role-playing over a five-year period at Mystic Seaport in Connecticut, where I portrayed everything from a steamer captain to a lowly night watchman aboard the whaler Charles W. Morgan.
So, whether behind a microphone, on-stage before a live audience, attired as a Civil War soldier believably describing events at Gettysburg, or just making it up as I go along doing improv, communicating and performing are in my blood. My wealth of experience enables me to give high-quality, professional vocal performances first time, every time. From my home studio I'm ready to provide a wide range of delivery styles from warm to authoritative, high-energy to low-key, real-person delivery to character voices... and just about everything in between.
Here's talkin' at you, kid.
